Thanksgiving first then Christmas

So I am the type where I honor Thanksgiving first, then celebrating Christmas.
Maybe its the whole "being born on Thanksgiving" thing but I will not put up the tree, listen to Christmas music, any of it.

Tonight we went to the Outlets at Anthem and watched them light up the big Christmas tree. Now technically I did not break my rule because it was not my tree. But it was definitely something to see and perfect time for photo opportunities.

Election Day 2012

So I am not an early voter nor do I send in my ballot. Is it lazy? Nope, for some reason I like the fact that I stand in a line and wait my turn. Now don't get me wrong, I hate waiting, but I can definitely make an exception for voting for the President. Plus I do feel a sense of accomplishment when they hand me the "I voted today" sticker. Dorky, but it is the little things in life that I enjoy.
I do have my own views on who to vote for BUT, I am not pushing my belief on anyone, just vote. It is like an elephant and a donkey,(political reference/joke) ever tried pushing one? Me either both strong and stubborn.  Have an opinion and do the American thing.

Go vote today!

Disneyland!!

So we (Mom, Nana &I) have always talked about what would happen when she died. Long story short she wanted us to go to Disneyland and have a good time.
.

This we did on April 22nd -26th we left on our own California Adventure. We left after her (Nana’s) birthday and had an amazing time.

Despite the fact that on the way there  I was sick, and the last day Marcus was feeling like gross also

Because we were in California we of course had to go to the beach. It was cold, windy and anything but beachy weather, we had a blast.

Happy 1 year

We did it one year married!! This year Rodney's gifts this year was to get my haircut and styled but the lovely Howard (he did my hair for the wedding), my feet and nails done, and some oh so good chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements.

My Mom took us out for Red Lobster, it was yummy.

In addition, I went to pick up our anniversary cake from Baker-Wee for free. They give out 1 yr cakes if you purchased your wedding cake from them. Unfortunately, on the way there I blew a tire. Luckily, I called Chasity and she was able to give me a ride there, I swear she is a lifesaver.

Later on my Mom, Marcus, and Emily came over to decorate some Easter eggs, and then we ate cake.

Overall, it was a good way to spend the day.

Wedding Day

My wedding day was the best day of my life. I will share these pictures of my fabulous day.

Now I am not going to lie we had a very slim budget to work with. Two weeks after our wedding, we were moving to Colorado because of Rodney's job so we had to plan very carefully. Now the place we wanted was doing construction so we had to go another route, the only place that was in budget and had an opening. Either way it was great.

All of Rodney's family had to travel, but I was so glad they did to help us share in our wedding.

Most people are nervous and jittery on their wedding day, but I was calm. Now the high winds did make me nervous but made for a cool picture with my veil.

I have pictures of that day to remember my Nana and how healthy she looked, it was really the last time we seen her perk up and be herself.

This Is Me

Little Me
Nana & I
I was born on Thanksgiving in 1986. I was two weeks late so naturally I am late for everything, although I have gotten better at being early. My Mom and my Nana raised me as an only child until my Mom had twins when I was 11.

I graduated high school in 2005, after the life of dance and being a cheer leader I decided to go to college that was 40+ miles away (far distance right?)

My Mom & I
I went to Arizona State University East (Polytechnic) right after high school; I lived on the dorms. There were some exciting moments there as well as some interesting. It just so happens that I broke a rule, I started dating my resident adviser (RA).  The last semester there we found out I was pregnant. Big shocker to both of us, after leaving campus we found out it was a boy. We decided Phillip was his name. He was born on Thanksgiving 2006. We are 19 years and 4 days apart. 2 years later we were expecting another child, boy again, we named him Noah.

Easter 2010, Rodney proposed before dinner in front of my whole family. A year later we were married April 7, 2011. The end of April we all moved to Aurora, Colorado. To sum up it is 2012 in this time my Nana went to heaven, in March. School is on hold since I owe them money, and I am working part time if that is what you can call it. However, for the moment everything is good.
